vastly increased virus connection attempts

I think something seriously needs to be done about this Blaster worm (and varients) story.

Currently I'm fending off about 2KBps of port 135/445 connections (from random places including SAIX IP's) which is seriously hampering my connection. Firewalling it does not stop it from wasting my bandwidth, and in the last day it seems the flood gates have oppend with infection rates going from about 100 a day to about 20 per minute.

I have forwarded this problem to Telkom a while ago and their technical department is aware of it. I hope something gets done as it can seriously affect your monthly cap as our friend Antowan found out…

I am totally with you on this. Every morning I get mailed a log with attacks taking place just about every 10 secs.
So annoying!
