Vatican says Dakar rally 'bloody irresponsible'

Does the Vatican have a point, or should people be allowed to choose deadly sports?

The same way that priests in the Vatican can choose to have s3x with young boys, so too people can choose to partake in whatever sports they want. I mean who died and made the pope God's representative here on Earth anyways??!!?!! Catholicism is IMO by far the most evil of all religions!! Its the perfect anti-religion....the devil is sneaky and he has done his job well in the Catholic Church..not that I believe in God or anything.....but within that theoretical framework, that would be my analysis...

Vatican tears into Dakar Rally death toll
The Vatican has decried the death on Tuesday of South African motorcyclist Elmer Symons in the Dakar rally, the latest of many associated with what it called "a bloody, irresponsible race".

If one guy dies doing something he loves is "bloody irresponsible", I wonder what they would call the crusades, dark ages and the sacking of the Americas?

How many millions died as a direct involvement of the Vatican?

WTF has the race got to do with the Vatican ?

They need to keep their eye on the Catholics molesting young boys and stay away from the Dakar
It does seem a bit strange that they are mentioning it - but as the linked article is pretty vague it probably is somehow relevant to them

and seriously - I am not Catholic - but why do people always want to attribute the faults of a few to an entire group (ie religion) -how many priests are there compared to a sixth of the worlds population? please, grow up - if you have problems with religion state them openly

I wish they would rather address Aids and condoms rather.
Well to be fair it is pretty difficult for them if they want to keep up with their whole idea of abstaining, but I agree ... with a billion odd people under their influence they probably could make a difference ;)

The Vatican reminds me of a stubborn old man that has just gone on Pension.

For many years (centuries) the old man (Vatican) was respected many for his wisdom and influence. When he spoke, everyone listened and admired, even when he spoke a lot of cods-wallop.

Now this younger family and friends (the World) have quickly grown more wise and aware of circumstance than he is. They understand that Old Man doesn't know everything, that some of his wisdom is flawed and misguided.

All of a sudden they view him as a grumpy old fart who complains about each and everything thats not to his liking. He continuously mumbles about the "good 'ol days" and how to hell the world has gone, yet he is simply powerless to change anything about it, since very few care about his opinion.

And that frustrates him - the fact that he went from wise and influential to grumpy and old, smelling of vitamins and pee.

You could try respecting their religion ... oh wait ... I forgot, it isn't cool to respect the Catholic religion any more.
