Having an IT/ development background I am aware of the shortcomings of this offer. OTOH I don't have much choice in the matter ... :)

A long-time friend passed away recently, leaving a largish program in badly-written VB6.

The application - not quite but best described as a "report-writer" - has a sale, but only if the software is first converted to .NET.

I have been asked to assist by finding a developer capable of doing the conversion.

In return the developer will receive 50% of the sale price of approximately R100K (i.e. around R50,000 for the developer) on payment by the purchaser.

I know the people concerned and can guarantee that this is legitimate offer.

Whilst best suited to those in the Johannesburg area this is a work-from-home, so those from other areas are welcome to apply if suitable arrangements (re communications) can be made.

The developer would be expected to provide his/her own hardware and development software.

Those interested should PM me with a mini-CV.

Many thanks

Since VB6 and VB.NET are incompatible it will basically be a rewrite. How long is a piece of string? R50k may be a lot or ridiculously little.

Yup, I am fully aware of that fact.

That's one of the reasons that I mentioned that this project would ideally suit a retired developer.
