When my VDSL was setup two weeks ago my line was syncing at 21000 kbps over the past 2 weeks the speed has dropped to 14000 kbps currently my line indicates the max sync rate at 26000 kbps on most of the time it shows the max sync rate at 34000kps see attached a screen shot of my connection and please advise what I can get Telkom to do to keep my line stable at 20000kbps

Did you notice what your CRC was before the reset?

If it was high then they adjust you down to try and get a stable connection without CRC errors....

Ask them to change interleave to Fastpath

Does anyone know who to ask to get a change from interleave to fastpath

I have tried the chat line but ....they think VDSL is another name for fastpath

Telkom: I can see on my side you are on a fastpath, What I will do on my side, I wil recreate the port, just to refresh the port in the exchange. on our side we can chage your adsl mode not the channel mode, its on the fastpath as vdsl. When you say Fastpath to Interleav, dont you mean from adsl to vdsl because thats the only mode we can change on our side.

I did try the online chat, twice today. I guess it's pot luck who you get. The 2nd time around a fault was logged. Maybe i'll get someone that knows about this stuff.

Your upstream SNR at 5.8 might be the cause.
SNR:

6dB or below is very bad and will experience no sync or intermittent sync problems
7dB-10dB is fair but does not leave much room for variances in conditions
11dB-20dB is good with little or no sync problems
20dB-28dB is excellent
29dB or above is outstanding
