Vdsl upload speed

I see my router shows me that the possible max download speed is 23-24 mbps but my upload is stuck at 1.2 to 1.3 mbps...

(these values are calculated from my line info)

Since vdsl doubles upload to 2mbps...

it seems i won't be able to reach that speed or is there some trade-off in download for upload when I might upgrade to vdsl?

Fisrtly What line speed do you have? 20 or 40?

VDSL is still copper based and most Copper Products have a 8:1 or 10:1 Contention

Next how far you are from the actual exchange impacts what you can actually achieve in both download and upload

However if you are getting the full Download speed but not upload that might possibly be an issue at the ISP. Unlikely Your hardware but still a small possibility but would start at ISP/Telkom.

Lastly as both telkom and ISP's will tell you is that VDSL like ADSL are "BEST EFFORT" Services so they cannot guarantee you will hit the exact numbers.

Or you can be like me and wait for your fiber to finally arrive in 3 weeks T_T
