Go to a local post office that does renewals. Wait in line. 45 min on average. Done. Each month that passes they are adding an additional R75 a month.Mine is now 7 months overdue.

"For your convenience until 14:00" Now that's a fsking joke.Nevermind that the municipality that runs on skeleton staff, closes for a couple of days every time 1 out of the 2 staff members gets COVID.
Edit: just got a message that the municipality is open again from next week, and for your convenience until 14:00 only.
Well... They didn't say for your convenience, that was me being sarcastic. But they could just as well have. As you will most probably have to come back a couple of times, and that is if they don't close down again."For your convenience until 14:00" Now that's a fsking joke.
If you have a NUR licence number, try going to the licence place by Gateway. Off umhlanga rocks drive next to Coastlands building. It is usually dead quiet in the mornings. They dont do ND sadly.I need to change ownership, so think I'm screwed. Dbn based. Hell if I'm spending days at lic depart.
Needed to do that for 5 years now. Found someone that will do it for R1800. Quite a bargain for license, registration and road worthy without it leaving the yard and not having to stand in a queue. Maybe go to a driving school and ask if they know someone that can do it for you.I need to change ownership, so think I'm screwed. Dbn based. Hell if I'm spending days at lic depart.

The one I see mostly is very close to my wife's bakery, its a tiny PO with two staff members.Queues 50 long for grants?
You have it good in EL then, all the POs in DBN that do grants have queues in the hundreds long and that wrap around blocks.
Hope they have a proper grant in place after next month instead of just extending it or making it permanent. The one I see mostly is very close to my wife's bakery, its a tiny PO with two staff members.
I feel terrible every time I see those poor people standing in a queue in all kinds of weather just to get their R350 grant because they are desperate.
No one should have to live like that, the government need to find a better way to handle things.
Then there will be no wack for the meter maids.Does this country enjoy being stuck with hysterically out dated processes and poor service delivery? Serious question, though said in jest.
Why must we have a new piece of paper stuck to our dash boards every year and for the most part encounter hours to weeks or even months of frustration trying to renew it?
Why do we simply not, at a minimum, get a unique license disk when the car is first registered in your name, transferred to you etc and then simply renew this online when required? No new piece of paper annually etc, simply an update to the system that indicates your unique license is up to date and valid. (presuming no details of changed..owner, address etc)
The only time you'd need a new license disk etc would be when the vehicle is sold, transferred to a new owner, it's gets water damaged etc.
This way, reduced waste of unnecessary paper, no need to waste time and energy queuing to pay and simplicity for all.
Or is it about having menial jobs throughout the chain that stop this kind of service simplification? Genuinely, it seems ridiculous that simple solutions to this mess are not being applied. Make it easy for people to renew and people will.
Bonkers.
My vehicle license is almost a year behind. Received no response via eservices from the CoCT and there is no way I am standing in a queue to get it sorted. The line at the Municipal Offices crosses the road. Didnt bother to check again. I work from home and my car is only good for gathering dust.
