Very interesting review. That UI looks fantastic.

Yeah, the iphone is revolutionary - but there is still room for improvement (3G/HSDPA is an obvious one). If it makes everyone sit up and improve their stuff, that's fine by me. :)

actually, come to think of it, the review made me want to check out the blackjack, which is available here. :)

Thats what many said about the iPod too.

Besides - with patents the way they are the other manufacturers are going to have to innovate not imitate and they havent been doing that very well considering the head start they had. ;)

Is there something the Iphone has that other phones dont have??

Apparently so - a workable interface and a real browser just to name a couple that it has that others seem to be lacking and lets not forget cover flow and the whole video ipod functionality. ;)

Here's a idea - name one other phone that has all the features of the 1st iPhone.

That there is the one big weakness imo.

Workable interface? Mmmm ye no phone has that. No buttons musta been the right way to go then, lol fingerprints on what Ive seen, a very brittle piece of glass!

Real browser? Mmmmm even the K800 has that, its just cheaper and faster to use Opera mini. Lol a real browser which means even more data which means faster data O wait it doesnt have faster data o well might as well wait hours to load the "real browser":)

Ipod video functionality.... lota phones can playback any file format and with much better resolution on better screens etc etc etc O but wait those phones can even view their own videos, Mr Iphone doesnt do video recording!! Agh shame man.

All the same as the Iphone? mmm theres so many better phones out there even going back lets say 1.5 years ago, I think a SE W900 is a decent comparison!

you would.

However, I didnt ask for a comparison - I asked you to name another phone that had all the features of the iPhone and the SE W900 clearly doesn't.

Did you see the picture of the phone without the backlight?

Video is probably another area where the iphone could improve.

A very cogent, immaculately presented argument. This is what I understood from it:

OH NOES!!! LOLZORS DAT IPHONE IZ NUTHING, w00t OTHER PHONEZ ARE MUCH L33TER!

I saw it in some ad somewhere for only R3500 ... how much is a N95? R7500?
EDIT: Make that like R5000 for the 4GB option.

The HTC Touch has a similar interface, and much more. And it will probably be about the same price.

One guy on TV said that if you can't sell something (crap) in America, you're stupid. :D (Because the Yanks buy anything). :D

Love it or hate it, looks like it's going to be a big seller.

The battery is glued down, like an iPod. So in a year or so you have to replace the whole unit.

I am quite disappointed with the iPhone's Bluetooth support. The iPhone can only be used with headsets and car kits or speakerphones. Bluetooth cannot be used for sharing photos, sending contacts, or anything like that, nor can the iPhone be used as a Bluetooth modem. Nothing irks me more than the lack of stereo support, though.

According to reports, from those who have examined the components, that's something that can be rectified via software.

I agree that the iPhone will definitely shake up the market. I think what everyone seems to forget, is the fact that the iPhone is Apple's first shot at a cellphone (AFAIK). Think back to the first Motorolas and Nokias ... not the best of phones by a long shot, compared to what we get now.

As a first pass I take my hat off to Apple, I think they did well ... the iPhone will grow into a phenomenal product in the next 18-24 months

EDIT: A nice link - iPhones flying off the shelves
WOW... Landman, you are even worse than bwana these days!

Turned into a real Apple fanboy, heh? <insert sick smiley here>

Check your facts - I'm regularly critical of Apple products including the iPhone.

Lol did you just compare the Iphone to the first Nokio 9110 or something??

The SE T68 SE's first phone was quite and innovation those days, to bad it was not as popular as the Iphone.
