Very slow speeds Pretoria North / Wonderboom

Anyone else battling with very slow speeds in this area?

Signed up for the Internet Promo 5 a while ago and got the E367 (21Mb/s) USB modem. Speeds were acceptable in the beginning, but about three weeks ago started slowing down to this:



8ta rep response was excellent, but it does not seem that they can pinpoint the issue causing it. Not signal related, as the technician tested it twice, and the signal seems decent.

Where in Wonderboom are you? (close to Annlin or Gezina?)

Had no hassles with my 8ta connection since end last year. I'm in Rietfontein.

Drove out to the nearest tower to do a proper speed test to find out if the network is straining under the load, but it seems fine on my iPhone:

Connection Type: Cellular
Server: Midrand
Download: 6.20 Mbps
Upload: 3.05 Mbps
Ping: 45 ms

This is however at a completely different location than the 8ta USB modem is at, but as I said earlier, the signal is not the problem.

Hi, I am in Magalieskruin and the last few days my connection was (and still is) extremely slow. Very frustrating indeed!

Cell ID of the tower you guys are connecting to? Also having slow connection and lots of lag occasionally. Might be that the tower is over subscribed?
