Ok so here we go:

I have many movies on my PC... I use iTunes as my default music player, I have to beacause of my iPod Touch. No the thing is, I want to use one program for music and movies. If i convert the movies I have to mp4 (from avi) the video quality goes down.. The downside of having avi is that I cant import into iTunes. I have also had countless converting problems from avi to mp4, an audio lag.

So give me some advice... What should my final format of my movies be? What should I use to play them? Is there a way to play avi in iTunes? I prefer iTunes because of its user friendly interface. But im really confused right now... Need some advice... I want to be able to watch/get to the movies easily at the end of the day.

And also, what video format does most dvd players use? So if I wanted to burn them to discs, what format?

Thanking you a *** load xD

Yea dude... It kills me. The only reason I use it is because of my iPod... There are other apps to transfer music, movies and pictures with but then I can't manage my apps =/

Most dvd players that use divx play avi, and also play avi's coded in xvid fine too.
That what i have most of my movies as. Not sure on a player with a browser interface, I just explore my PC and play the movies which I've organised from there on media player classic.

I don't think iTunes will play avi, it'll have to be poorer quality mp4s if you want to keep to a single format and still use iTunes.

Ye! Rather get rid of iTunes. Its a load of k@k in anycase.

Just stick to .avi its much better. I do understand that change is rather hard but you'll be doing yourself a favour.

I would but the only thing that is holding me back is my iPod.... Damn Steve Jobs made it so "secure"

I don't use iTunes. But I'm sure there must be a plug-in somewhere on the internet that would solve your problem.

Goto www.xbmc.org

download xbox media center , install and never look back, it'll play everything you throw at it and the interface beats anything hands down.
You can download hd skins as well, set it up to get movie, series, dvd and album covers.
Mines hooked up to lcd big screen and looks sweeeet!
