What exactly is the reminder.

Finally a rare instance of a community not completely shetting the bed and destroying their surroundings as they usually do.
What's that saying again? Exceptions prove rules.

Good for this community, it's about time these people did something, but don't pretend that this is the norm.

Hats off to the community, like those humble people in Orania, doing some good to further others.

I see even the white squatter camps are following their example and building bridges now

You keep reinforcing exceptions and rules.
The exception is poor squatter whites. But if you want to pretend. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don't give a fck about Orania.

Ai, such a nobel thing.
If they only had support, my only worry is that when the big rains come the bridge might not be stable.

But this is how we did things when there was no municipality. Guess we are going back to the ‘good old days’.. candles, fire and making a plan because we don’t have a government

I only got the attention of a person that said black communities do nothing. Everything from you replying to me and making assumptions, as well as arguing against your own points, is on you.

Nkandla got a road just for Zuma that cost billions, but this bridge was too much. I suspect, as is it such a small amount, it was not worth the cadres effort.

Obviously saying they do NOTHING is ridiculous, but to pretend that this is the NORM is also ridiculous.
I didn't argue against my own point. My point is that this isn't the norm and shouldn't be used as a gotcha like you seemed to have.

Can you show me where I said this was "the norm"?

Are places like Orania "the norm"?

You're pointing out Orania because it's a failure. Yet Orania is an exception in the white community, all within the context of a black community fixing their own area which is also an exception.

You seem to think it's an "own".

Why do you think it's an own? Because you think comparing the failure of a white area with the success of a black area is an own.

Since the black community success story is an exception, it makes no sense to think it's an own whatsoever, yet you do.

I didn't say you said it was the norm, I'm saying that your "own" makes no sense unless it were the norm for black communities to be like this, which it isn't.

I'm telling you why you're retarded.

This is becoming more common; communities taking over the maintenance and policing of their communities while government argues over whose turn it is to eat the money.

Yes. no way you will build a bridge for that price. Expect some collapse and loss of life....
In the consulting space 135k, no. But these things are regulated, so an engineer with a good heart could design and supervise the construction of this for 135k, with alot of help of the community. Probably a very simple bridge.
