Can you show me where I said this was "the norm"?

Are places like Orania "the norm"?
Why is Orania such a thorn in your side? You are always preaching that people should be left to do their thing, which is exactly what those people are doing.

In the consulting space 135k, no. But these things are regulated, so an engineer with a good heart could design and supervise the construction of this for 135k, with alot of help of the community. Probably a very simple bridge.
It is only regulated when a profesional does it. A community in the middle of nowhere.... Expect local employment as is demanded everywhere.

Cost R70k just to put 5 underpinnings for a house and replace a lintel, and I had other builders telling me that was a good deal.

Many bridges built by ancient laymen are still standing today. Chill.
Ancient laymen?

You name a bridge or building standing for ages you will soon realize there's nothing ordinary about those individuals.

Let a laymen do brain surgery? ...

Labour is far cheaper in those parts of the country. A bulk of the money will quite possibly be used for material and foundations.

Look 135k isn't much, if you getting this bridge done for 135k you have to be very innovative accompanied with plenty of help. But nothing is impossible.

We know absolutely nothing about skills of the men tasked with this project...

Lol. Did they do delicate brain surgery as well? This is a short span foot bridge. It's not going to require complex materials and technical knowhow to construct. We had a bridge at my ex employer that was so basic yet structurally sound. Btw, there was a structural engineer onsite every week.

Surely Durban suburbs is not that vastly more expensive.

But on your point, I'd assume there are a few builders who probably live in that community and will probably get involved at a substantially cheaper rate if not free by helping over weekends and whatnot depending on how the project is going forward and being planned out.

The article says they still need R70k.

Yeah, they need additional funds to fix the access road as well.

It's not - the guy said people should be more like Orania and build stuff up - the guys here are building stuff up, I tagged him to show him not only Oranianians doing it. The things that set you off is incredible :p

You're pointing out Orania because it's a failure. Yet Orania is an exception in the white community, all within the context of a black community fixing their own area which is also an exception.

You seem to think it's an "own".

Why do you think it's an own? Because you think comparing the failure of a white area with the success of a black area is an own.

Since the black community success story is an exception, it makes no sense to think it's an own whatsoever, yet you do.

I didn't say you said it was the norm, I'm saying that your "own" makes no sense unless it were the norm for black communities to be like this, which it isn't.

I'm telling you why you're retarded.

Orania is not a failure? Orania is doing very well for itself. I criticize its measure of human value and the people defending it on racist grounds, but Orania in itself is fantastic and is a great example of what privatizing a community can do.

I also never said it was an "own" - the fknut will post later again this year on why black communities don't help themselves so I was reaching out to him to show him a story so I don't have to have another humanism talk with the guy.

It isn't the norm, which is why I included the white squatter camp example too - where are the roads, the airports, the public swimming pools in the white squatter camps? I was at least thoughtful enough to send you a picture of a bridge they had built as well.

Should I ask why me tagging a racist member set you off? Or is it too much for my retarded brain to understand? :)
