We know enough to know they not competent.
These are the same people building structurally sound buildings in these communities. We haven't heard of many accidents, if any.
What they constructing can kill.
Of course...I agree it can but what other options are there after 20 years of begging?
Exactly...
Construction is basic.

Engineer inspected areas that were flagged during routine maintenance, and not necessarily the bridge. It's a foot bridge that linked 2 operational units over a road.

The government LOL
The municipality would be held liable for allowing construction without engineering plans and all manner of evaluations I think. However, what options are there for the community?

What do you think
Hang on:

1. Vote for a complete incompetent government
2. Fix everything yourself
3. Complain about the government..
4 Rinse and repeat.
Is this the way forward?
Not forward but in all communities we have seen people do the work the government are paid to do.
Potholes
Robot outages
Trash
Crime

I don't know the way forward, cause the ANC isn't going anywhere and they will not change.
But we have to make our own environments livable.

A revolution?
Nobody wants a war. War is horrible.

We don't want to hear of any thats why its regulated... one incident is one too many.

Do the exact same thing your employer did...

Yes this one had a river which we can see has a strong current...

Lol..we will be braaiing on Mars and teleporting around the universe before that happens...
and that is why we are building our own bridges.
The last one Juju's construction company built in Limpopo also didn't last.
Seems like this is money well spent.

The town planner will only issue a notice to demolish, thereafter probably wait 3 years for a tender for a contractor to demolish what remains of the bridge?
However, what options are there for the community?
Vote for the ANC again, last chance promise they said...

So no solutions?

I'm fully behind the project. Other places have wooden bridges that have held for decades.

Imagine if we can get black communities to do the same, build things and not burn things.
Hats off to the men and women of Orania trying to do something and not begging for things to be handed for free to them.

He is going to point out that this is only 50% of what he said.
He wont be wrong though.
As it is only 50% of what he said.

Black communities are already doing things for themselves.

Black communities in poor rural areas don't receive municipal services from government. They crowdffund their own small projects with the meagre income they make.
