Virgin Mobile sucks

Right... I've had it with Virgin Mobile. They are completely and utterly useless.

I ported to them at the end of May because I had issue's with Vodacom's service. Right now, Vodacom seems to have been a good dream.

Firstly, when I ported my phone went dead for a few days because the were having issues activating my number on the new sim.

Then, after that was fixed, GPRS didn't work, and I rely heavily on email while out of the office. I had to call these guys daily, and not once did they have the decency to return my calls. All they had to do was say, "It'll work in a weeks time", what they would say, "We'll call you tomorrow to check if its working". I'd then call back two days later, and they'd give the same line as above. It took about two weeks to fix.

During this period I also had, and still do, have problems with MMS, I would send a MMS to someone and it would send, but never arrive at the recipient, after long tests, I confirmed it would deliver to MTN and Virgin Mobile only, not CellC or Vodacom. This issue is still on going, and trying to get these people to return a call is impossible, you'll phone them, or make a complaint on hellopeter, they'd say they'd get back to you, but never do. The same problem exists with people sending me MMS's

And now, after all this, I haven't received a bill from them since porting, when I raised this with them last month, they said I'd get one this month (July), guess what, no bill. I contacted them, they have some excuse about my account still being in a test cycle, they'd let me know when my account will be sent to me. So, at the moment it's at R1450,00, apparently I must continue to wait until they decide they're ready to send me a bill...when will that be? One month? Two? Three?!

I give Virgin the following ratings:
Customer Service:0/10
Quality of Serivce:0/10

These guys don't give a damn. I am now going to port away from them. They have got to rate as the worst cellular service provider in the country.

My monthly rant is over for July. Enjoy the day.

Shame, how can Virgin Mobile ever think they have a 'hope-in-hell' to support their users? A typical query addressed to VM will go like this :

User >> Virgin Mobile >> Forward to CellC >> NOTHING HAPPENS. >> Query Closed.

I guess they must justify their pay cheques. :rolleyes:

Sorry man, but you're flogging a dead horse.

I wouldn't mind the problems... if they were honest about them, and actually called back when they said they would. It's just common decency to call back.

I have given them till 14h today to call me about porting away from them, after that I'll just log another complaint on hellopeter.com

threaten them legaly....

Bastards probably still wouldn't care... they've got my number... and thats that. Threaten them legally, and they'll just refer me to the terms and conditions of signing up.

Apparently I have to wait another 30days before porting, at which time if they can't give me an account I'm going to ICASA.

I feel your pain.

I don't know if ICASA get involved in cases of extreme incompetence. What can they do - take away their license??

Could it be that the staff here suck?

Seems like it, the rest of Virgin in SA seems to be decent too, must be the Cell C connection. :eek:

Yup... its the staff here... when you call someone, and they promise to get back to you the next day, but don't... thats the staff, not the company.

Problem is companies in SA let the employee's get away with it, probably because it's to difficult to fire them. They're supposed to call me today... should we take bets on wether it happens?

Well., did anyone take the bet wether they'd return the call as promised yesterday? These guys are complete amateurs. The sooner they go belly up - the better.

Can someone please tell me if this is the sort of thing I can take up with ICASA? All I want is my account so I can port away from these useless ****ers... and they won't give it to me?

But when I ask them how to port away, they tell me to settle my account first.

These guys are absolutely useless, you don't get much worse.

I made arrangements to port away, I sent them emails when I started the process on Friday, I asked kindly that they don't screw it up, because I was picking up my new phone on the weekend from MTN in Cape Town.

Lo and behold, Virgin let the port request from MTN timeout. After phoning around frantically on Saturday, they said it would go through that night... and guess what, Sunday morning I was still on Virgin... Back in Johannesburg now, so can't pick up my phone...

Thanks Virgin you ****ing incompetent ****ing idiots!

.... I'm FREE... FREE from VIRGIN IMMOBILE... ! Hopefully I'm on MTN's network now... I await delivery of my sim card :p Thank goodness that nightmare is over.
