You are the first person I hear about that even dares blaspheme against the great Amarok :D

Every major Linux user I know uses Amarok.

Yeah well what can I say.... welcome to the dark side... <one last post as a "senior member">

I'm a big linux fan myself. Happily using Suse since 2005 (I still have windows for games though).

P.S. In case I forget later, congrats on reaching 500 posts.

People who cry about vista and says it's slow is the ones with slow hardware, Vista better utilizes more hardware better, you're previously idling graphics card, only 10% ram being utilized etc.

One thing I want to try is using ubuntu and then via virtulization run vista (for games) anyone tried it before?

This tends to happen because people don't bump threads anymore, they bump their number of posts. Just like I am doing here. I should actually write a thesis on this. "The study of the statistics of the ratio of useful to completely and utterly useless threads"...

Once you convert to the dark side, you won't be sorry... it's so much better than having to pay for a legal piece of software full of holes.

You can't get 3d acceleration with virtualization and if you do its pretty bad. Thus no games

Hence why I've been here since 2004 and have only made 2,184 useful quality posts.

Wellim on my GF's laptop now and its running Vista. Not bad but nothing great either.

I've read rumours that there is a possible new MS OS in the works for late '09? Anyone else seen/heard of this?

Unfortunately you are right. Virtualbox allows for 128Mb of VRAm but no 3d and VMware allows for some 3d but only 8-16MB VRAM. Both give you one but not the other..... :(
