Hi All

I would really appreciate some assistance with the following:

I have:
- a Samsung SGH-Z400
-an IBM laptop
-a voda 3g data bundle
- data cables
- Voda Mobile Connect software on my laptop.

So far - i have tried:
loading the software,
creating a profile
& connecting 2 my fone using VMC ,via usb not bluetooth

the problems:

1. on the VMC software, when setting up a profile, the Z400 is not an option...
2. If i sub the Z500 as the fone, it connects using GPRS , not 3g

I have hunted thru the user manual on the samsung website looking for a setting on the fone to make the default 3g instead of gprs but havent been able to find anything:eek:

I am using VMC v7.00

:( I am soooo confused...

Can anyone help me out here - all i want to do i connect to 3g using my cell phone instead of a data card....

Any help would be appreciated at this point....

Thanks guys!:)
Rosenrot....

ps... the gprs connection works fine - but i actually need the 3g connection specifically...

Just to make 100% sure, you are in 3G coverage?

If you connect to the network directly from the handset, do you connect with 3G?

Hi vodacom3g

when connecting to vodalive , the fone automatically uses a 3g connection
& when browsing the web, it swops to gprs

initially, when i first received the fone, it made every connection via 3g & it took me ages to find a setting to switch that option off - now i have searched & searched for where to switch it back on - but it isnt even listed in the user manual....

for further info, i have also loaded a 3g bundle onto my contract....

:(
