Vodacom 3G & HSPA coverage in Gansbaai - De Kelders

Anyone using the Vodacom service in these communities? I'm wondering if I will be in their coverage area when I get there. The map on their site suggests I won't.

I live there about 4 months a year - in De Kelders. 2 trips, usually a couple of months each. Pretty much retired from operating photosafaris. Till now, dialup connection on TelKom.. but looking forward to using this Vodacom service with the modem. Just wish the modem wasn't SO expensive!

Well i stayed in Colenso laan in de Kelders. Hat massive problems in that street with 3g reception. One street up, where the little shop oppi koppi lies, 3g worked perfectly.

I have bought a house in Gansbaai and should be moving there soon. Maybe we can do what the others do and have a Gansbaai MyAdsl meeting

Well sort of moved in and busy settling down. Suggestions for a De Kelders meeting place and dates will be welcomed.

Looking at the pace of things here, I think that 24 hours will be ample time to arrange things!

So let us emulate the rest of the country and have our own De Kelders - Gansbaai myadsl meeting.

Had to use Orca Wireless because both Telkom and Vodacom are in capable of supplying a proper broadband service!

I am looking for a 3G tower to point my cellphone antenna to from
Pearly Beach. It must be a line of site, can someone provide me with general directions or better GPS coordinates?

I am sure that in Gansbaai you can get 3G, but where I live in De Kelders I cannot even get proper cellphone reception, never mind 3G.

Goeie dag ek bly in De Kelders Vyferstraat in rigting van Hermanus voor oor die see

Meeste van die tyd ontvang ek 3G afhangend van hoe die wind waai en hoe sterk .

Partykeer spring die 3G baie rond 3G-Edge tot you need a network

Partykeer wys die modem 3G maar daar is geen netwerk nie ,dan moet jy modem uithaal en weer terug sit
Partykeer is die sein so sleg dat jy nie die Wifi sein van die router kan gebruik nie.

Jy kan ook nie night oal gebruik nie want die modem val meeste(line drop) van die tyd van self af, deurdie dag as jy iets groot aflaai sal "line drop" 'n paar keer gebeur dan moet jy van vooraf begin wat jou data kos.

Partykeer is die stem lyn net so vol "strond" jy hakkel ek kan jou nie hoor nie.Hoe meer mense in Gansbaai hoe swakker die opvangs.

Vodacom probeer hulle beste ,om te verbeter ,maar hulle tegnisie laat hulle in die steek.Daag nie op nie ,en doen verkeerde installasies (ek het lugdraad van Vodacom een tegnisie se dit is vir data en die ander een se dit is vir stem.Met of sonder lugdraad selfde probleme.

As ek die die gebruik moet gee, sal ek vir 3G Rekenaar met modem ontvangs 7 uit 10 gee. Slimfone 4 uit 10
