Well, that is what Vodacom is claiming in their latest radio ad (on 5FM). Can it be that much?

Depends what type of coverage they mean. Local or international (eg africa). If MTN has more international coverage then I'd expect them to give VC a taste of their own medicine regarding complaints to the ASA.

I recently gave my 3G cellphone to my son - He is with MTN, I am with Vodacom. It is scary (for MTN users) to see how patchy MTN's 3G coverage in Pta East is.

Well then my area must be an isolated incident, as I have the full lot HSDPA/3G/EDGE/GPRS from MTN .. and yet from Vodacom all I have is GPRS and a weak signal at that..

Vodacom's coverage is defnitely better, not sure if its double though but could well be.
