Vodacom launches 5G network in Kimberley

Vodacom has launched its 5G network in Kimberley, the first location in the Northern Cape to access the next-generation cellular technology.

Like in its other coverage areas in the country, Vodacom's 5G network in Kimberley supports both mobile and fixed wireless access services.

Interesting, it seems networks are focusing on places not likely to get fibre anytime soon as far as rolling out 5G

Except for MTN, Tekom and Rain are bringing 5G to places that are overbuilt with fibre, the areas that would be great (can only speak for KZN) are getting fibre rollouts in the next year, so chances are when 5G is properly available, it would be pointless for most.
