Vodacom and MTN will have to share 5G spectrum – Minister

When additional radio frequency spectrum earmarked for 5G networks is licensed in South Africa, the aim is for cellular network operators to share it.

This is according to the Minister of Telecommunications, Siyabonga Cwele, who was answering questions from MyBroadband about how 5G spectrum would be licensed in South Africa.

Interesting. What happend to DAB radio that was on test.

I'd like to know when analogue (terrestrial) TV is going to be switched off. Nothing will happen before that happens.

Do these idiots even know that there's no difference between 4G and 5G spectrum? No reason to wait and not launch 5G now.

The backlog of moves in this field is vast. Escom is not the only rotten pile of cader deployment .

It is always a dead giveaway of ignorance when the rulers use terms they heard of but do not understand 1 2 3 4 5 generation GSM and frequency spectrum are not the same.

Correct answers given my the minister. It is all about WOAN principles, even when administration of spectrum is in private hands.

The brand new lady minister will soon sort it out. Or not. Intetesting, if you are old enough ,that once the future boss FW ,was the minster of telecoms. Maybe the lady can emulate that???
