Vodacom Annual price increase will be effective 1 April '24

So every Vodacom contract advertised that is more than 12 months is a misleading advertisement since the prices increase annually now?

It's not a correction of information to have an annual price increase. The contract should clearly state that there will be an annual price increase

I agree, they might as well add the below drivel to their contracts/conditions....

As South Africa's leading network we're all about providing you with the best connection, the best coverage, and the best customer service.
2024 is moving ahead which means it's time to review our prices to align to inflation and the inevitable increase in operational costs which impact all industries. Rest assured that we've kept this as low as possible while still providing superior quality - all part of our promise to you.
The annual price increase will be effective as of 1 April 2024 where there will be a 8% subscription increase for Postpaid contract customers on Home Internet plans. This means an average increase of 4.6% to your total bill.

I am aware... But let's say they do it after month 3 or 4... What then?.. it would b almost similar like these cellphone networks do in a 2 or 3 year contract.

Who knows.. rental companies might soon do the same if these networks can get away with it.
Mobile networks have been implementing this practice for several years, and it's widely known. If you're uncomfortable with it, consider not signing a contract.

Yes I'm aware of that. Unfortunately I have to go on contracts because there are good deals out there.

If you buy a phone cash, you still need to buy airtime and/or data.. and most of the time this works out more expensive. So I have no problem going contract ... It's just like a rose that comes with thorns.

In the past, your statement was likely accurate. However, with the prevalence of WhatsApp for calls and widespread access to WiFi, the demand for traditional airtime and mobile data has decreased a lot.

Never ever going back to contract.
Prepaid actually works out cheaper for me.
