So I took my new semi portable router for a drive. Drove around 20min to my destination and the WiFi still works. So obviously not "locked" to the tower closest to your home?

Vodacom internet seems to be pretty bad tonight. I get signal for 10 minutes then it goes away for a few minutes. Then back again. Anyone else having problems? I'm in Sandton. This happened 3 times already in the last hour.

Always thought you had to use the unrestricted APN for that, not sure if that is still the case.

The same thing is happening this morning again. Why is Vodacom so dogshit?

Edit: And it's still happening again this morning after working fine for a couple days. The signal on my router keeps switching from blue to green and I can hardly use the internet.

I don't understand what is going on. Here is a speedtest from this morning. Upload zero? I can't connect to anything international but my router lights says everything is fine.




Seems like I sometimes do get some upload but the ping is massive and sites like Twitch don't load at all.



Edit:

Internet seems completely random. Mybb is working. Twitch doesn't load video at all but Youtube seems to be work fine (but takes longer than normal to load up initially) for example. Some games that I play cannot connect to their servers so I can't even log in. Stuff like that.


Edit2: And now about 30 mins later, everything seems to be working fine again.... This is happening too often though.

Little bit annoyed that my Vodacom 2023 Black Friday Home Internet 30Mbps R299 deal has increased twice already and is now R358.36 in just 15 months.
I'm stuck on a 36 month contract!

How does and agreed contract terms just keep changing?

I'm worse , I took the R399 50Mbps Deal.. now I'm up to R478.30!!!
I'm Furious..
Will never take 36months contract again

Mine is literally 11% as well

Was paying R449, now I'm paying R498.54 and I signed up in Nov 2024. I was fine with 4.5% but not about whole 11%. Literally more then double...

Also, what the hell is a honouring fee? A whole R100?!

Did anyone else get robbed of R100...
