Vodacom BlackBerry Z10 contract prices revealed

Um:
Red VIP unlimited unlimited 1,500 R1,999 R1,999

Is VC matching 8ta (and Telkom Business) unlimited call option with a 2k product because I haven't heard or read anything about that and can't find anything on their webpage.

Red VIP sounds like something for vampires ... and shark hunters

These prices are ridiculous for a company trying to claw back market share.

Was gonna get one, but not at those prices. No ways. There is a limit

I also found it interesting. These deals are all brand new. Vodacom didn't want to say anything about them, and I agree that it does look like they're trying to take on 8ta with Vodacom Red VIP.

All these packages look like they pretty new, not on the website never heard of them.
800 SMS?? Wtf for??? Lol.

well if they are looking for um product testers for the Red VIP product - you know as a whole product - I'd gladly volunteer; or if they decide to solicit a comprehensive proposal ... JvZ still hasn't dived further on that thread.
My guess is that we will hear something about Red VIP soon it will be a pity if they use it exclusively on things like this BB deal and the iPhone and ignore real smart phones like the Nokia e61i

E60 what?
Troll.

Tongue in cheek rather than trolling. Unlimited calls would be of use to me as would having over a gig of mobile data on a smart phone. I genuinely adored my e61i until some bastard stole it leading to a replacement with an e63 (rather than an e71) which I've had for the last 3 years and which is missing half a dozen keys.
Honestly a Nokia e6 is pretty much the ideal smart phone for me - for one thing it can be turned into a hotspot - which complements the iPad, laptop and pretty much anything else.

Have to agree Haldex. Everyone knows the pinnacle of cellphone technology was reached with the Nokia 3330. (The 3310 was cool, but the Bantumi AI on the 3330 was better).

Don't forget the 5110, those things turned an entire generation of middle aged men back to carrying holsters on their belts

I still use a Nokia 6110 Navigator as my every-day phone (and I work in technology). Have it for 5.5 years now. Have not jumped onto the "smart phone" train. I like small form factor and good battery life; and do not have a "need" for apps yet. Always on the lookout for a better phone - nothing available yet.

Interesting that Vodacom are now coming to the table with an impressive deal. RED VIP hopefully that means unlimited voice calls but I am sure there is a catch like always a find print. If this is the case Vodacom will get a lot of business from colleagues and friends as they spend in the region of around R3500 per month on their business mobile contracts.

The BlackBerry Internet Service packages are pathetic I am sure you are able to use the normal paid APN service to access BBM or do you've to subscribe to those "Smart packages". IF you able to make use of paid APN then you can just stick in a GIGA 200 sim card. Data problem solved for a year

Let's see what offers Cell C come up with - not that I'll be getting it. It looks good but I'm not too keen on gestures. Smartphones require enough of our attention. Using gestures while walking will be a chore

Hahaha!told ya so about prices and sp's worried about bandwidth intensive lte!

Have you had to replace the battery in the time you've had it?
