I as a Vodacom subscriber have a great concern, DOES the call centre still exist??????.
About 2 to 3 weeks ago I dialed 111 and waited and waited, 30 minutes went by so I eventually just called it a day.
12 Aug'06 I tried again and waited a good 10 minutes, an option said I could either wait for an operator or press # and they will get back to me, "Bloody hell I thought I am not waiting 30 minutes again" so I press #,15 Aug'06 and still waiting for the return call, this is a darn joke, the largest mobile operator in S A and you don't have a call centre that works.
Shape up or ship out...

Last time I tried they eventually answered after 47 minutes, just turn on speaker phone and keep holding :P

I called them in the evening and after 35 mins of holding on I finally put down. Tried the next morning and waited for 20 mins before my call was answered. There's something seriously wrong with the Vodacom call center at the moment. I don't often need to call them, but when I do, I certainly don't want to hold on for that long. Hope they can get it sorted out.

I can only agree with you - it is absolutely shocking! They make BILLIONS out of us and you have to hang on 45 farking minutes!!!!!!!! They are either completely stupid with no understanding of queueing theory, or completely indifferent to service. Typical SA service company - bend over and spread 'em!

Vodacom's number doesn't want to work on my cellc simcard when i dail 082 111 for help for questions regarding my 3g hsdpa card, why? only works from vodacom sims or a telephone line

Problem is as long as they're all equally useless they're pretty safe, where else you gonna go?

Works fine from Virgin sim:confused:

Even so. Who wants to hold for 45 minutes or more at Standard Cellphone Rates. At least from a vodacom phone it's free.

The other night I too held for nearly an hour. No answer. It was quite a critical matter aswell. A family member was going overseas, and smsing roamon to 123 didn't work - it came back with an error. Bloody useless I say.

Still...best of a bad bunch. Try calling 808 (MTN) they also never answer, and when they do - the guy on the other end is like a moron (90% of the time). I've asked simple questions like when is headoffice getting the N80 and he cuts me off. I've had someone answer who doesn't know what a nokia is - NOT JOKING. On Cell-C - the free minute checking service is ALWAYS down. I think i've managed to check my free minutes once this whole year.
