Oh, I'm also having a DATA query with Vodacom... I logged it on Friday via the Twitter page (Social Media group)

I'm charged R250± for data that I know I didn't use (Because I had free data)

I honestly don't trust Vodacom.

This is actually scary!
And also one of the many reasons why I am on prepaid.
Especially since I worked out that you don't really save any money that way instead of just buying whatever phone you want cash instead of getting it on a contract 'deal'.

Just feedback on my problem. Vodacom did credit my account with the help of Vodacom Data. Thank you all for the help.

I just don't understand that how a company like Vodacon can claim that they cannot stop data being used when you have reached your allocated amount before the end of the month. I took out a data contract with TM a few months back and if I do run out before month end my internet stops working and a message from TM appears indicating no data left. It's then a simple matter of buying more data and no getting bitten by the OOB shark.

Yes, he had to, it was 5 years back, he had the habbit of downloading torrents at work, so the the adsl dropped, and he had this 3g router on for backup. He worked for a Nashua Mobile dealer, so the datasim didn't have a limit.

He switched to 3g, and forgot about his torrents, and it downloaded the whole que.

His boss paid the bill (as he had to) and he had to pay it back 5k a month...

Silver lining....At least they could confirm, their 3g backup setup worked...:D

Its all about the billing system they utilise....prepaid and topup are real time IN billing platforms...whereas normal open ended contracts use Eppix...-call/data events only get updated every few hours, if not days...hence call limits also take so long to kick in, and can not be guaranteed... best option, TopUp,...open ended accounts are disasters just waiting to happen.
