LOL.... we can't beat their network reliabilty so lets try and kill their advert...:D

So they think Vroom = Vodacom..... lol...

What a wast of time and money they could have spent on their network structure !

:D :D

Pitbull, MTNDD, just out of interest sake: How many 3G and HSDPA towers in the MTN network today?

Could this be the Quantity = Quality question ?

I think you know the answer to that bit.

Quality = Quality

Quantity doesn't make it quality.

doesn't quantity of towers, i.e. more towers per area, make for a better & faster connection? In practise I have found that, with same signal strength, VC connection on HSDPA is much faster than MTNs in many areas, where it matters to me (speaking for myself there).
I have 2 MTN contracts which I have to use for data, and VC prepaid for when I need the speed...
VC also not "faster than (1Mbps) ADSL" consistently, but on average closer to 1Mbps than MTN. My guess has always been this due to VC more HSDPA towers, but i suppose cud also be due to more users on MTN (doesn't help me with speed tho) :)

Answer the question perhaps!

Hmmm. Guess you don't know.

Perhaps the "vested interests" should stay out of this thread. That would be the professional thing to do!

For sure no 'vested' interrest from my side. I think both Pitbull and MTNDD are cool guys doing a great job here for broadband in general. I also won't stand for any network bashing from anyone formally involved in any of the networks. Competing does not mean you should be a pr*ck about it.

Reason I asked is we've got another thread going on the spectacular growth of HSDPA and my suspicion that the VC / MTN combined numbers might be very close to the complete ADSL installed base.

So it would be nice to know how many 3G and HSDPA users and / or towers MTN has got at the moment. VC numbers are in the public domain.

Just think the great story rpm can put out:

"SA HSDPA user base exceed Telkom ADSL numbers in just two years!. A world first!!"

Ok V3G sorry I read your post out of context then.

I'll try and get the figures.

Other than the price issue Telkom takes forever to install ADSL lines whereas with the cellular operators you can have wireless internet in a day.
