I have one of these cameras that can take pics of wildlife or whatever.
Anyhow you can set it up either to send MMS to a cell phone and email or using GPRS to email.

I have loaded both data and voice funds on the sim and the MMS setup just works - sends pictures to both a phone and email, no problem, but if I try and go to GPRS settings nothing works.

ANY ADVICE ??

For APN I use: internet
Account and password I leave blank

I have setup a vodacom email account to see if that would work, but not winning
anyhow
smtp server: smtp.vodacom.co.za or smtp.vodamail.co.za
port: 25
sender email, I use the vodacom mailbox i set up 076xxxxxxxxx@vodamail.co.za and then my password.

it should just work - but it doesn't, so what is wrong?
The sim is fine, it sends and receives mms so thats all good, it just doesnt work on my gprs settings:confused:

SMTP is: smtp.vodacom.co.za on Port 25

Your logon is wrong: i.e. a number 0761234567 would need the logon name as 27761234567 and your password...

Thats correct. Leave other GPRS settings blank, just fill up APN.

I think JimM meant that number starting from 2776xxxx should be filled in the field "Sender Email". It seem to me your logon name to the server.

I'm not winning - basically i should be able to use any smtp server, not just vodacoms, but nada. MMS works fine but its just a tad expensive

I've just noticed the error:

Server should be: smtp.vodamail.co.za Port 25 sadly, my spell checker corrected this to vodacom in error!

Plus your email is wrong: 27768xxxxxxx@vodamail.co.za is the correct format.

You also do not need logon (i.e. account and password) with the APN just the 'internet' in lower case.

Just something else, if you were to use another networks SIM, say MTN then Vodamail will not let you send anything...

Also not knowing the device in use, it's a little difficult to offer more advice...
