Vodacom is turning into one of South Africa's biggest fibre players

If Vodacom buys out Vuma and DFA, there's going to be a big problem with them monopolising both ends of the consumer internet space - LTE/5G at one end, and fibre on the other.

This is a VERY big concern. SA consumers are going to be destroyed, I would argue Vodacom taking over DFA and Vuma will negatively affect SA's GDP.

I was on Vodacom fibre for a couple of years. It was horrific. It was impossible to get proper support and towards the end the line didn't work most of the time.

Moved to Rain 5G and even though that's down every now and then it's nowhere near as bad as the fibre I had with Vodacom.

Someone tell me is it possible to use Fibre To The base station infrastructure to connect Fibre To The Business client? Or it will affect both services poorly, I ask because I always hear about Fibre string has enough capacity so maybe same route can connect 1000 Fibre To The Business client @ 100Mbps each and still connect 1200 5G/4G devices per site @100Mbps each

Thats how a family in the northern cape get the connection, MTN brought in the fiber to the tower and they provided ethernet cable to the router and they have 500mb up and down which they then break it up over a WISP network all depends on the backhaul and how much capacity they need.

Thanks but Vodacom told me is not possible to connect any client using backhaul infrastructure even if the client is willing to cover installation cost under condition that there after client will pay similar price like other clients

It's possible.

Not that Vodacom would ever make a sensible move like that, but it's possible.

It all depends on Business agreements etc etc etc.

Vodacom more than likely don't want to have to deal with customers directly on their backhaul network in that fashion so they'll deny the request outright.
