Vodacom itself doesn't do it. They have 3rd parties who they 'trust' just to send their own marketing. Since I am on the DMA 'do not contact' list for spam and continue to get it, it's clear that the system is flawed.Not necessarily. I saw an instant jump in spam when I ported my existing number to VC too.
I'm inclined to agree though - its likely the RICA process that is leaking not VC itself.
Don't give your number to shops either because that allows them to abuse it.
