Hey everyone

Ported to Vodacom prepaid a few months back because Cell C signal is non existent at my new residence. All has been fine until 2 weeks ago when a No Service message appeared on my iphone. I have done 2 SIM swaps and neither has worked in my phone, or the significant other's, nor a colleague's. Other SIM's work in my phone so I think we can safely assume that it isn't a phone problem.

At a bit of a loss as to who to speak to now as the call centre and walk in customer service centre both insist that all they can do is yet another SIM swap. Has any one else experienced this and resolved it? Or am I doomed to look at Telkom Mobile/MTN?

I think your problem is where you apn is set wrong and your Vodacom sim connected to a LTE tower. I have noticed it and surprised Vodacom 111 never really knew what the problem is.

To fix make sure you apn is set to lte.vodacom.za

That would solve the problem. If it does not call 111 and have them activate lte again.

Lastly but not recommended just slide the LTE slider to off so you will only use 3G or lower with the apn set as internet. I don't recommend this because 3G tower could be congested while the same tower is super fast on LTE.

BTW because you are using Vodacom the slider name and options won't be LTE but 4G ;)
