Vodacom on course for cultural crises and suicide: WirelessG

It's clear that Vodacom don't give a rats a$$ what Wireless G think. VC know Wireless G has limited funds to persue this legal case, and so will delay and frustrate Wireless G until they fold...

Nope if you have ever worked with Vodacom from a business perspective this is exactly the kind of service you can expect

Well, it's not as if we didn't know that this is the way vodacom operates. They even have a resident sc bitching bunny here on mybb. Still a great read though, best of luck to WG.

Vodacom are the biggest bunch of ****ers I have ever seen. In a country of the blind, I guess the on-eyed man is king...

Just 4 more months to go on my contract... 4 more months then I can get rid of this evil!

What amazes met about the complaints on myBB is that the complainants are still all using Vodacom services. It is like the masses in the country complaining about the ANC, but then voting for them year after year. The only way we can change things it to move to another cell provider. I have switched to CellC more than 4 years ago and will not support Vodacon out of principle - being proved by these cases mounting against them. They are an arrogant monopoly - and the only way we can break their market-control is by supporting the competition. BTW, I don't work for CellC - but I found then honest and simple to deal with.

he charity we founded was ripped off by vodacom(Canal Walk) and when we went to query this, the sales persons said '' this happens all the time ,just last month a blind charity ( I guess he means a charity that assists the blind) had to fork up R50 000 when they strayed out of their R150 two gig per month contract.
Thats exactly what happened to us.The Hands of Honour works with and assist the homeless/lost as they make the transition to self=sufficiency..When we signed the contract the sales person(who has conveniently since left) '' neglected '' to tell us how we wil be ripped of if we ''strayed'' out of our 2 gig limit. This ''neglect has cost us thousands that could be spent on the poor and homeless.
To think this gift/donation was made by a widow who loved what we were doing and now she has to pay them thousands back cos she tried to do good. When I spoke to another employee in the same shopping mall at their data store he said ''the youngsters , in their eagerness to sign up people ''neglect'' to tell people about the dire(and expensive) consequences of ''straying" our of your limit. When we tried to put a limit on our account they then ''neglected'' to tell us that we then lose our ''free'' 2 gig night owl.
So all in all .My charity and the poor widow who tried to donate to us was ripped off by Vodacom, not once ,but TWICE in a couple of months.Thinking of starting a facebook page named ''Charities whi have been ripped of by Vodacom"' any comments/advice welcome

Sorry but you cannot blame the network for going out of bundle and no sympathy even if your a charity. Will remember not to donate to Hands Of Honour if its so incompetent and reckless with its money.

Agreed

When the network RAPE the customer for going OOB and do not have proper controls in place to stop it, then the network is at fault.
They bank on customers going OOB otherwise why charge R2 per meg? Or whatever it is now.

Its a bloody cartel thats why.

So now even Vodacom thinks they are above the law. The Deputy Judge President gave time lines and they decided not to keep to it. How arrogant can one be? -1 for Vodacom!

I think a lot of the complainants were stuck in Vodacom contracts but are slowly moving out, especially seeing that Cellc has recently come to the game. It's possible to complain about something but still remain with it because it still provides an "overall better performance" than others (no such thing as a perfect network operator). Now that Cellc has come to the game not only in terms of prices but also their base station upgrades, I can now leave Vodacom with no reservations.

However, I will still keep a prepaid Vodacom sim card for use in areas where Cellc doesn't have 3G as yet. One such place is Eshowe in KZN, where my in-laws are. The Vodacom 3G is superb there but the Cellc signal is pathetic to say the least.

I still find Vodacom to be the best of the lot (and I'm using 'em all). One cannot throw everything into one bundle and then throw the bundle away. WirelessG is upset, and understandably so, but to now tell us the whole of Vodacom is up to sh_t is just ridiculous. One must separate this case from the rest and deal with each matter on its own merits. Who here have heard VC's side of the story? Yep, no one. But the stoning is happening. Kangaroo court.

^ um Vodacom is avoiding presenting their "side of the story" in the form of pleadings which are past due.

Let's wait and see. Let me make this clear: I'm NOT saying VC is not guilty here. They may well be. BUT, to now state that the company is reckless, incompetent and "above the law", etc is just stupid. It is anger/emotion talking and not logic. If I was VC I would take these guys to court for defamation.

^ well I think thats the point - Vodacom are evading going to court, I think WirelessG's lawyers know this

Paul, you are completely wrong. Vodacom had to submit a response by a certain date and did so. I know, I was there.
