Strange how the ignore the thread yet they comment on all the threads. Sending a pm also does not help. They just ignore that as well.

They do not want you to know the balance. The oob shark is their friend.

Makes sense - maybe it is a business strategy rather than a fault.

I have 3 months left on my contract and plan to move to Cell C after having been with VC for the past 12 years.

Its amazing how jannievanzyl can comment on all the other thread's in the news section but he will not comment on this........

TBH, I thought this was fixed many weeks ago. For sure I was told it was fixed. So I did not follow the thread any more.

Busy chasing up.

To give some background; the promo bundles were launched on the new billing platform (yes Beri, THE ONE :)) but some of the integration stuff ran into trouble, including the ability to check balances on some of the channels (web, etc).

We decided to rather launch the promos so people could get access to them earlier. The call was cheaper prices but with some initial limitations now or lower prices only much later with full service.

Pretty sure you'll agree the correct call was made?

Can you not check your balance with USSD in the mean time? How about ginggs' app?

Hi Jannie

The issue is not with using USSD.. I can since I must (by removing it from my router, switching off my cellphone, removing my sim, inserting the new sim, switching on my phone, waiting, checking balance I f that works, removing the sim from my phone after switching it off, placing it back in the router, placing my own sim back in my phone, switching on my phone and router, waiting...), the issue at hand is that Vodacom is not showing what seems to be an easy fix. where does USSD get the data from?? why cant the website get It from a same/similar DB????

Did you find anything?

I saw a few and downloaded them, including the MTN app. But they did not work.

The fix for this *should* be deployed next week, but please don't quote me on that. Anything might still go wrong.

No one ever said the issue is with USSD, right?

You're right in what needs to be done and it's exactly this that's being developed.

Will do. Holding thumbs for Tuesday/Wednesday.......

I actually like the idea of an USSD app for iPad's so I'm going to see what we can do on that front.

Might find an apple problem there, but would be cool if you could pull it off.

If you are jailbroken there is queryUSSD and u-browser.
