That would be the first response....!

It's from a topup contract that I have been paying far too much for and has finally come to the end of its term and been converted to prepaid.

I want to port the number to cell c, but would like to get something back for the airtime first. Ok?

Last I checked you cannot transfer inclusive topup airtime, only additional airtime that you payed for and loaded yourself.

I'd be glad if someone can confirm this. It's not included minutes from a contract, it's airtime Rand value. It was a top up contract and has already been converted to prepaid and the balance shows the same as it would if I loaded normal prepaid airtime.

That changes things. If the balance is on a pure prepaid basis then it should be transferable. But my guess is the contract is actually still on topup.

Why not try to transfer a small amount to a test sim?

I would check the fine print too, there could be daily transfer limits out of and into the two numbers applicable in the transfer.

What he says but I doubt you could transfer it.

When I log into MyVodacom it describes the account as Yebo4Less Prepaid.

I've tried it and it doesn't work. :(

Apparently Vodacom discriminates between airtime that you pay for on prepaid and airtime that you pay for as locked into an overpriced contract!

You would think that after shafting you for 24 months, these thugs would at least let you USE the airtime you accumulate...

Seems very unfair but i suppose thats life...
