It works like this:
Some publishing company decide to publish a book about superbrands, they then make a list of 200 or so likely brands, contact them and say "you have been selected a a possible superbrand, would you like to take part?" If the company says yes, the small print comes up: In order to be part of this, you have to pay R80K and guarantee to buy x copies of the book....What a complete swindle.
The egotism of the brand and marketing managers that agree to this kind of extortion is incredible.
