Vodacom Repairs, I am getting a little worried.

So I took my wife's LGG4 in to a local vodacom shop for repairs on 30'th.

Today I received 2 sms's from Vodacom.

At 10:25 I get an sms that says the phone has been received by the repair place along with a telephone number.
At 10:30 I get one that says the phone is in transit to the collection point and I should bring my ID for verification purposes.

When I check the job number online it the status says that I should "kindly contact the vodacom repair call center" and gives a number to call.
When I call the number they tell me I should call the repair place.
When I called them they scratched around, the guy was asking other people what is happening etc, eventually gets back to me and tells me the phone has not arrived there yet.

So, when should I start worrying about the location of the phone and the repair status?

If they lose it, is it not their responsibility anyway?

I called the repair centre on Tuesday the 5'th a5 12:45 and was told they received the phone that morning.

I called them again a few minutes ago.

At first they told me that they had not received the phone, then when I told them that I called On Tuesday and was told that they they had received the phone that morning, the person that answered the phone had a long discussion with someone else (I was not put on hold and using an HD VOIP phone I could hear a bit of the conversation) I was told that the phone has been sent to their head office. But due to the tone and the bit I heard of the conversation I am not sure if they are just using it as an excuse or if it actually was sent elsewhere.

Anyway, patience :)

9 days in and still no actual information or verification of the phone's location.

lovely......

not

Tried the Vodacom number now (0821944) and explained my issue.

They went through their system and it says that it has been sent to "Advanced repair" in Midrand.

She says they do not have phone numbers and may only communicate with Vodacom Staff (I can understand this productivity wise) but she has marked the device as priority repair for me.

She says it may still take between 7 to 14 days but as it is in Midrand it should go quickly.

Hopefully I won't ever have to deal with Vodacare Rustenburg again in my life

To add to Monday the 11'th: On Monday they told me the technician it has been assigned to is Mervyn.

I called a few minutes ago.

The recorded voice thing told me it is currently being tested by a technician.

The real person told me it arrived at advanced repair yesterday and has not been assigned to a technician as yet.

Fck. That it can take so long to assess and repair a phone.

The actual work takes zero time, its the paperwork that absorbs most of the energy and time. Worst is you can bet they did very little actual repair work!

I'll probably get a call today or tomorrow to go and fetch it :)

I'll probably only be able to go pick it up on the weekend though.

When phoning, device has been exchanged for a new device.
New device is in quality assessment and awaiting clearance to be released.
