Good day

I've sent in my cellphone with some water damage (moisture).

The phone worked perfectly, with only the charger not working -my phone came back with a scratch on the rim; I've immediately shown this in store right there to the guy that handed my phone *back to me. He asked me if I'm sure it wasn't me and I told him I've never used that phone (which is 4 months old) without its bodyglove cove. Then we both even noticed some ground on the phone from the fell, on the scratch itself we wiped the ground of as it came back with from menlyn repair centre,

The guy told me "I'm so sorry about this"..... well then I left the store with my newly dropped damaged phone...

Suddenly the right hand side (where the scratch/fall occured) began peeling off like a phone that's dropped and damaged. *I went back to the store in Hartbeespoort and told them this phone is behaving like that. Even the back button which is also on the right hand side is working on its own sometimes.*

They've sent my phone back to repairs and it came back with only the comment "this phone is water damaged water damaged and can't be repaired".*

BUT this time the peeling off screen even became like see-through black just as a fallen Samsung s6 looks after FALLING -which in this case occurred at repair centre. *Tariq? the consultant at vodacom hartbeespoort told me it's unacceptable and he will report the problem (and so he did -see attached email copy)

I then asked the lady Belinda via email to request a phone replacement as it still worked PERFECTLY after the moisture damage and charging problem repair. But now my perfectly fine looking 5 month old (now) phone have external damage caused by vodacom itself.

Belinda told me that they won't replac my phone because of the water damage that reflected on my warranty ...*

Ok fine when a phone is water damaged and didn't work it's something else, but now the phone worked; and the external damage caused by Vodacom was totally unasked!!!??? I'm sooooooooo in regret that I even sent in my phone because it's totally damaged now!!!!!!*

So vodacom may do anything they want with a phone if they noticed some moisture damage???? Even if the phone works??? Do they have the permission to treat it without care then??? Because they KNOW they will get away with it as my warranty expired????????

VERY UNHAPPY and will forever be scared to ever send in any phone of mine again!!!!!

I had a situation where a phone which wouldn't switch on, was sent back to me indicating water damage, the phone never ever saw a drop of water. I'm convinced that they simple open the phone up, hold it over a boiling kettle, and simple claim water damage which voids the warranty. This too was Vodacom.

I've had it happen as well that I dropped a phone off with apparent water damage

If it's a Samsung why take it to the sp? Take it to Samsung for ADH repair, you've got one free repair.

Why doesn't the phone have warranty if it's only 4 months old?

Also, normally when you take a phone to Vodacom for repairs they inspect it and note down all marks and scratches and you then sign for it. Wasn't this done?

QFT

I used to have an S4. It died and I took it to the Brooklyn Samsung store. Internal board was swapped out and I had my phone back in a 2 weeks. Fast, friendly and free.

I now have an HTC and it also decided to die on me. I took it to MTN and it took a while but the internal board got swapped out and its working fine now. But with HTC you can also take it straight to Regenisis and they will fix it under warranty, and you cut out the middle man (voda or MTN).

This is exactly the experience I had with my S3 and Tab 2 on a Vodacom contract.

My instruments went in for repair. First accusation is you got it wet.
The ONLY way to deal with them is to demand a new replacement under warranty.
And it does not matter if you go directly to SS, the response is the same.
