When you add the deals hopefully sometime later today please also add the cash deals again. (If there are any changes at all)

Thanks :)
No change on Sony Z3 though...oh well...now I wonder whether I should go for it now or keep waiting, though it's not like there is anything new and interesting on the horizon and certainly nothing that will be any cheaper (except the Z3 itself which might drop another 500 or so (looking at cash) till November when my contract truly expires).
My sister's shiny new G4 is making me itchy (for a new phone, not the G4, the battery life is just too unsatisfactory).

Hey Ockie does anything affect the cash or additional monthly pay-in phone prices? For instance exchange rates? So if the Rand takes a dump two months down the line then cash or the additional monthly payment prices might actually end up more than they are now aside from other factors like new phones being announced (which I assume would lower prices a little)?

Also I have a local Vodashop contact who swears they've got the 32GB model of the Sony Z3...no idea how that's possible given what others in the store have said, you, the display models at both the Vodashop and Cellucity, and the Vodacom website which all say 16GB only.... but it sure would be awesome...

As with most imported goods, chances are that Vodacom needs to pay a Dollar cost for the units....so if the Rand goes for a ball of sh*t, like it has recently, then the cost to Vodacom will be higher. To what point Vodacom will absorb this before they lift prices to compensate I do not know. As far as my knowledge goes, we only have the 16gig model.

Ah ok. I just always Vodacom bought so much stock in one go that they avoided this almost entirely and that price reductions due to age and introduction of newer models almost always outweighed the exchange rate.

There definitely isn't any point in me waiting for it to get cheaper (and there's nothing interesting on the horizon besides a Z5 I won't be able to afford and only releasing after my contract completely expires) then so I'll probably go get my Z3 this weeekend, whatever it may be.

I am sure it does to a large extent. I would not be surprized if they also buy forward cover. My sis is in the IT disti business and they buy forward cover to try and offset some of the R/$ volatility. I remember a good few years ago when I was still working in the store the Rand took a sudden and massive plunge. Vodacom took action and pulled the deals in the middle of a deal run and reissued the deals. This has only happened the one time that I can remember though.

Hey Ockie, is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 still available anywhere? I saw that it was going cheap. I know its old but its for my son and I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for one of the newer models. Thanks.

Got my Z3 yesterday and it is indeed a 16GB model (D6603, would have had to be D6616 to be 32GB but it seems that model has very limited LTE bands so that may be why Vodacom doesn't get it, same standard GSM bands though) :(

It's a fantastic phone though and KingRoot along with Link2SD have been able to rescue it from being little more than a sudoku time killer due to limited space. I hope my warranty remains intact but if not oh well, as long as they'll still repair it if I'm willing to foot the bill, but I don't foresee any warranty claims with this beauty anyways.

See ya again 1 Year and 9 months from now Ockie :p
