Cellucity is it's own train wreck and whilst they sell Voda stuff anything they do isn't automatically something Vodacom would do. Case in point. (I wouldn't class cellucity as a service provider, they're a lazy leech performing a superfluous service..and expensive too) They're clearly importing the 6P as part of their own lunacy.

Hi Ockie

Any idea when the Nexus phones will be available?

I have no idea if we will even get it, never mind when. We used to sell the Samsung Nexus, but it was a flop (in the stores I look after anyway). It just did not move.

Two quick Qs Ockie.

I know that it's basically been phased out of the current line-up but the Talk240 is still on the sheets, however we were told that Vodacom will be completely phasing it out soon so it can't be used for any new contracts any more and that we had to switch to one of the Smart packages. Is that true?

And this is simply for my curiosity but what is the cash pay-in on the Z5 on Smart-M?

SONY XPERIA Z5 BLACK + TOP DOG VOUCHER @ R5799 CASH (Once-off) on Smart M

Deals on the Talk's is available for new lines I believe, but for how long I dont know. The smart packages are better in my opinion as it includes minutes and data. Draw back is the minutes does not carry over for 6 months like the old talk packages. Therefore you need to make sure you are on the correct package and use your minutes every month.

Damn, shoulda waited, only 400 more. Had been expecting at least a grand more, if not 2 or even 3. Oh well, at least I still have better battery life and "water resistance".

And yes, the Smart packages are a lot better but for an oldtimer who has gotten by on voice and WiFi only and the occasional non-included SMS they don't really offer much more value. Just wanted to know whether the instore guy was simply pushing the Smart L or whether he was actually speaking the truth about the Talk240. Still it would be nice for my dad to have a bit of data to play with when away from the WiFi. Decisions, decisions XD

I suppose you don't have the time to pop into the warehouse and take a quick shot of the box.
Or order it, take pics of the box and then send it back as a mistake and order whatever you usually order :p

LOL. The I work around the corner from Vodacom, not actually on the Vodacom campus, besides, the warehouse is tightly controlled. The closest I have ever come to the warehouse is at the collection point where we used to go and pick up stock in case of emergency and we could not wait for the courier to deliver it to the store. That part of the ware house you can only see the conveyor belts with boxes of packed orders being spewed out and sorted into the different areas of the country it is destined for. No one is allowed to where the stock is actually kept except for the people that works specifically in that part of the warehouse. We are no longer even allowed to go and collect stock. They put a stop to that also now the last two years.

As for ordering it, that is also not a option. Those two tablets does not do well in my stores and we are not allowed to send it back unless there is a very very good reason for it.

Oh wow. I guess there's been a lot of theft. I mean I know the country we live in but still surprising that warehouse control was made so tight within the company itself.

Equally surprised that sending sealed stock back is a problem. I mean I understand once someone has actually opened the box and doesn't like the colour or the bezel or some other superficial nonsense but that you guys yourselves struggle so much to return a sealed box and that accidentally clicking a line below or above the one you wanted isn't accepted as an excuse for a return surprises me.

I wonder if that has anything to with Vodafone VS Vodacom, that the Brits don't trust the South Africans and are therefore enforcing much stricter controls than need be or something like that.
