Welp, my contract goes up for renewal this year and I have nothing to upgrade to from my Z1 Compact. Unless there are still Z5 Compacts in stock somewhere.

New pricelist, please?

Ockie I'm a little confused. The Sony XZ has a reduced sub but a rather hefty finance option? I thought the "cash" part of the contract only kicked in once the "value" included in the contract sub was exhausted? So surely it should be full sub + slightly lower finance option?
Sorry, been away from the game for a while so I don't know what's going on. However upgrade time approaches for the family members again so it's time to get back in.

Oh come on Ockie. At least acknowledge the PM or this post even if you can't answer.

Hi Schumi. I have been incredibly busy at work. I saw your PM but then got a customer I had to sort out and then forgot to get back to it.

I have noticed what you are referring to for the last 2 or so deal runs. As to why they are doing it that way, I cannot say. I suspect it might have to do with with following a more streamlined process of creating the tariff code with the discount, but then loading the finance depending on the cost of the phone. In this way customers taking cheaper handsets will pay fair share of handset cost, but still benefit from reduced subs, same with more expensive phones. That is just my reasoning and not sure if that is the thinking behind it in the finance department.

Sorry Ockie. Of course you'd be busy. I just saw you replying to other stuff so that's why I was starting to get a little annoyed.

Not quite sure what you are talking about. To the normal person the total cost is simply that. It doesn't matter at all whether the contract sub is reduced to R1 and the rest all loaded info finance. A R600 pm phone is still a R600 pm phone. So I don't see how the one or other is fairer. It only matters to the few, like me, that like paying off the finance portion with an initial cash payment (I'll be needing those lists from you starting June again if you can at all manage it by the way) to thus only be burdened by the standard contract sub each month. What's the point of making the Sony XZ cost as much as the Alcatel phones when it comes to pure contract sub when you're not going to do the same to the S7 and iPhone7.....

Tis ok buddy :)
By the way it looks as if Vodacom has dropped HTC? And it seems as if it won't take too much longer for LG to be dropped as well based on that paltry non-flagshipped lineup. And Moto is back in the form of Lenovo?
