Someone mentioned somewhere that the Galaxy II cash price is close to R7000, so there will be a cash pay-in, or extra amount for duration of contract with Voda.

Exactly. Vodacom dont take kindly to internal leaks! Legend has it that for serious offenses they strap you to the satelite dishes outside Vodacom World until you die from sunburn and then wait for the crows to peck you clean! So next time you have interrupted 3G access...it could be cause a Vodacom peep is being sorted out.

I'm currently on a TopUp315 and buy data bundles beginning of every 2nd month (to last for the two months). What happens to my unused data and airtime when I upgrade middel June? Does it simply roll over on to my new contract?

Also, my monthly fee includes a pay-in on the HTC TD2 I took when upgrading last time. Does the balance of the pay in get "written off" when I upgrade, or will that cost carry over on the contract until the original 24 months are completed?
