What contract are you on?

Talk 120. Obviously I wont get the 500mb data bundle since that is part of the R399 p/m deal. I will probably get the Cell C 24gig sim card or just use my DHD as a hotspot for now.

Ah OC gave me a slightly different quote when I pm'd him.
I also have talk 120 (per second though)
And he said it is +R79 pm for the P1 (8.9)
and +R189 pm for the P3 (10.1)

To be honest, the 8.9 is probably better since it has an SD card slot whereas the 10.1 doesnt...according to GSMarena.

Im cool with either but honestly, I would prefer the 8.9 as it is a little lighter, thinner and compact.

Yup I have the same reasoning.
Smaller = Able to be carried and stored places.

Only other concern I have / had is the processor.
The 10.1 has a dual core (it seems) and the 8.9 has an ARM something.

But I have used my friend's 8.9 and it worked perfectly and smoovly.

So I am set on the 8.9

Bit of a bummer to see the Top135 Blackberry deal is now R165pm with BIS (up from R135). Wife is due for an upgrade month end and wants the Blackberry. According to my SP the upgrade fee to a 9300 from the 8520 is R820 and I will gladly pay that in.

My issue with the 10.1 is the backlight bleeding problem.

I would asume that even if it is not specified that the cheaper one will be the 16gig version and the more expensive one the 32gig version.

Just note that it does not have a sd slot

Assuming you are talking about the Samsung Galaxy 10.1v, the tablets on both the R399/m and the R429/m contracts are actually the 16gig version. The P3 is just an updated Android OS (R429/m = Android 3.1, R399/m = Android 3.0).

There is no plans for a 32gig release in SA (yet).

Yeah, a bummer hey, but at least this time Samsung (as well as Vodacom) are on the ball with updates, if anything in this article is true:Link

Yes...and my PM still stands. Just double checked on the system that I did not make a mistake and I did not.

Just trying to confirm the P3 deal. Seems to have dissapeared from the system.

OK...seems the P3 deal was not renewed for the next month and expired yesterday. You can still get it...but not on the financed option like the P1. You will now have to pay the store........R3,899.00 cash on the Talk 120

Okkie - could you confirm please? If I take a BB 9800 on TopUp 315s then the monthly subs will be R124+R315+R59(BIS)=R498. That correct?

Okkie - sorry to bug again. Tell me quick, does this BB9780 on TopUp 315s deal offered on the VC website for R349pm include BIS? http://www.vodacom.co.za/portal/sit...nnel=1685aacb7b45c210VgnVCM10000010f3730aRCRD

It seems that this is a deal that the dealer channel dont have access to. Could be that it is only available through Vodacom Direct so you would have to ask them. The dealer channel deal is:

View V104420 BLACKBERRY 9780 @ R 64 PER MONTH + SUBSCRIPTION ON TOP UP, 315s 2011-04-01 2011-07-06

And does not include BIS.
