I got a Huawei E220 with a 3G HSDPA 3.6 profile

1'ste time

Download Speed: 1149 kbps (143.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 309 kbps (38.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

2'de time

Download Speed: 1767 kbps (220.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 339 kbps (42.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

And all i did between the two tests is move my modem from my window to my hi-fi stand that is about 20cm away from each other

I'm based in Pretoria ,sub-burb Faerie Glen but my house is quite low near a valley. I sometimes get an issue with my connection spiking. I usually get a steady connection for 2 min then if cuts of for 10s and then connects again. Then it's another 2 min and another cut off and it repeats the whole day long

Any ideas how to fix it?

Even worse today. I have logged a fault...

Download Speed: 812 kbps (101.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 54 kbps (6.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

Tip for those logging faults. If you know your setup is good, as in it worked perfectly yesterday and today things are terrible (and you have not changed anything), then there is nothing to stop you from insisting that a fault is logged. The helpdesk can't refuse to log a fault.
