Is this a new trick to limit support calls? Trying to upgrade. Only backoffice could deal with it but always no answer or wrong department so had to keep calling. Now cannot call any 082 number. Message says the block is to prevent fraudulent activity. Cannot even call to explain and request block removal. Pathetic!

Tell Tobi you want to speak to an human agent.

Nah, it is a limit they implemented quite a while ago from what I recall, to reduce abuse, one of the VC peeps mentioned it. I've never hit the limit so always assumed it is quite generous.

Who still phones these days?

I have been trying to get support on a Home Internet package and have also received the message that my number has been blocked on the call centre. I tried to use Tobi but that does not allow you to speak to a person if you don't have a Vodacom number as you WhatsApp number.

I havent tried this on their call centre but maybe block your number. So put #31# before the number you dial.

This is why I've had it with Vodacum. It became increasingly difficult to get any kind of help. There are Vodashops full of staff who can only sell you stuff, not even assist with account enquiries.

No doubt this is how it will eventually be with all businesses.

Once went to a Vodacom corporate store, nobody could assist with a SIM swop without an affidavit. Went to a franchise store, or at least think it was, was out of the store with a swopped SIM in 5 minutes no affidavit. Same mall.

Yeah, I had that last year. When you go to a shop they tell you to phone because they can't help. When you finally get somebody on the phone, they tell you it has to be sorted out at a store!!

You phone and hear "you are number 150 in the queue", you put the phone down and try later. Do that 3 times and you're out. As per the OP.
