Vodacom to ask WhatsApp to help pay for network infrastructure costs

Lmao, good one.

I assume this was a joke, right?

So this is like telkom asking utorrent to help pay for the data flowing across its ADSL network right?

If this be the case, then they, while they are on the subject, should ask all the telemetry, vehicle tracking companies, prepaid metering, remote access companies, and others, to help pay too.

This kind of statement is the kind of thing that one would only reasonably expect from a retard!

Assuming Vodacon are being serious, I expect them to give WA a share of their profit as well since WA is investing in the network.

So essentially Vodacom made a statement that any application which utilises their network should bow down to their demands. It's absurd really. Vodacom is already selling the data, what did they contribute to WhatsApp/Facebook?

WhatsApp is only accessed over the mobile operator. Should ICASA side with Vodacom/MTN, then SA is nothing more than a watering hole.
