Vodacom Travel Saver reduces contract roaming costs

Guess they tired of screwing customers maybe.. but still they can shove it. I use the local networks, whenever I go to a country I get a prepaid SIM and use that.

Why even bother with a local SIM because they will charge you if you dial international. Wi-fi is killing roaming.

Do you know its cheaper to dial international in other countries?
Let's see.. I have about USD 30 spread across several SIMs from several countries. I get by with all of them, phoning my wife and son back home.

This is a good step towards reducing roaming costs.

If you're hopping countries it's inconvenient and often not possible to get a local simcard. And it's useful to be reachable by everybody on the same number any time of day or night.

Wifi is not available everywhere or at reasonable costs.

So it is no longer free to receive calls in Mozambique?

I am assuming that this doesn't overide any cheaper data roaming option that exists.

International roaming is a pricey exercise this product is a good product but tourists (so non business use) really should be looking at the various "free" ways to do things.
