Hi, I am currently looking at upgrading. I can get one of the following phones and need your input please.

1. Nokia N76
2. Nokia N73
3. Samsung U700
4. Sony Ericsson K810i

Have looked at these phones, but still not sure which is better. Can't get the phone I really want (Nokia N95) - but maybe next year???

Any specific reason for this phone? Thanks

16million colour screen. Believe me, it's much better than 256k colours.
GPRS, EDGE and 3G. The K810 only have GPRS and EDGE.

And off course. It's a Nokia. You want a Nokia N95. So why go for a different brand then??

Oh and one more thing. If you like to listen to music, the 3.5mm headphone jack is a must.

Ok, now I'm down to two it seems. I think I must go and physically see these two phones and then decide.

According to T3 Magazine (August 2007) the K810 is a nice phone but they also say the following:

"At the end of this trial run the differences between the K810i and the eight-month-old K800i still seemed negligible. If it's an upgrade you're after this is barely a window seat, let alone an all-expenses foray into first class."

"The new Stud buttons are annoying."

So now it's up to you do decide.

are there big differences in the k800 and the k810??

Just the look, all the insides are the same, but its worth it!
And you on Voda, the K800 is branded the K810 is not branded.

Anyone that says the stud buttons are annoying has never used it, at first the buttons seem stiff but after a few weeks they settle in and you hardly notice.

If you want a decent camera, the N76 is the only one of the four to have a sub-3megapixel camera. It's also a clamshell, and if you haven't used one before they can be really irritating.
Connectivity wise, the U700 is the only one of the lot to include HSDPA.
Otherwise functionally they're much of a muchness. I have new Nokia and SE phones and I have to say the SE software seems a lot more stable and responsive (even after firmware upgrades to the Nokia). I can't comment on the Samsung since I'm generally not a samsung fan-if a manufacturer can't even implement a Jave VM properly I don't trust them to do anything else right :p

Check the specs for yourself, and don't miss the compare tool at the bottom of the page:

I switched from Nokia to SE with their W800i, since Nokia had nothing comparable to offer at the time.

I love the W800i so much that I can't wait to upgrade, hopefully to a K810 or similar. The main selling points for the SE, was it's outstanding battery life. I've also only had 1 freeze in the 20 months I've been using it.

The N76 is rated at "up to 2 h 45 min" talktime, whilst the SE is "up to 10 h". That alone is almost convincing enough.

Never let talktime and standby time figures fool you.

According to GSMARENA the N95 has got 220hours standby and the E65 has got 265hours standby.

I get 2 days with my N95 and 5 days with my E65.

VC wants me to fork out R2199 for an upgrade to a N95. After some haggling, they came down by a total of R850. So thats R1349 I would have to pay in. o_O a bit heavy on my pocket.

Nokia N95

On which package can you upgrade to the N95 for that amount? Doesn't sound too bad, compared to what I'm quoted on.
