Vodacom vs MTN – you win some, you lose some

And Vodacom wins based on a confidential report.
So if the report indicates it is so good why is the report confidential?
What else does the report contain that Vodacom want to hide from the public?

I have been with MTN for 2 years and switched to Vodacom this year. There is no doubt that Vodacom's data network is far superior than MTN. With MTN I experienced EDGE most if not all of the times whereas with Vodacom I experience a 4G signal most of the times. This is significant considering I live in a large metropolitan area. MTN won't ever see me again.

Nothing, no conspiracy needed. ;)

It costs us a cr@pload to do daily trailing by independant, 3rd party companies all over South Africa.

If the other networks want this level of data, they should either pay for it or do their own trailing. Clearly we're not going to give it to them. :)

So now VC can claim that all they want and if MTN wants to change the facts they should soup up their "roll-blackout" network till it is factually superior?

How can vodacom make these claims.....

Overall, Vodacom has the best and fastest 3G and LTE network for smartphones

This is not true... I don't have facts but in my situation vodacom fairs the worst compared to MTN. I actually get LTE in my town with MTN. I don't get LTE with vodacom. Compared to 3G MTN and Vodacom gives me about the same performance.

So now Vodacom can say they are the best whenever they want, till MTN pulls their socks up and actually become better, you can crow over them... its a good thing, no need to be confused.
Did not quite understand your first post above.

But, yes. If you make a claim and it is challenged, you need to substantiate it. In this case factual information was presented to the ASA which validated the claims.
