How can I use a Vodacom Z3565-Z 3G Dongle, with MTN simcard in Ubuntu Linux 11.04?
The Vodafone Software refuses to connect, since it's not a vodacom sim, and I don't want to have to use one, since MTN has the 1 day uncapped service, which it what I use...

In Winblows I can connect using a STD manual dialup connection, but how do I set up the same kind of connection in Ubuntu, while offline?

I am a newb to Linux, so I need a good explanation, preferablt with links to DL any software I might need, so I can DL it while in windows, and then set it up in Ubuntu...

Is there a way to "unlock" the dongle? ie. strip it of it's "Vodafone-ness"

Edit:- lol missed the 1st bit

Just click on the network icon -> edit connections ->mobile broadband -> and then follow the prompts.

It shouldn't be locked, it's illegal for networked operators in SA to lock a device! It's just VC branded.
Use the MTN settings

You may need to install usb-modeswitch before it'll pick up that it has a modem.
