I just noticed a few new tabs on the vodacom4me site. Don't know how long it's been available but big thumbs up to vodacom, it looks really useful.

I've been playing around with the reports and noticed that my usage for September is 722MB, this is an extra 222MB usage outside of my 500MB ad hoc data bundle which seems correct. The strange thing is that none of the reports indicate that I'm being charged for the extra usage? Are the reports working correctly yet?

There is also an online payments tab available. I was wondering whether we'll be able to purchase ad hoc data bundles directly from the website at some point? The only way I know of purchasing ad hoc data bundles at the moment is to phone 155.

I've also noticed I can't access the vodacom4me site on my 3G connection (I keep on getting gateway timeouts) for the past few days now but I have no problem accessing the site via ADSL. Anyone know anything about this?

I have the same problem. I have a sneaking suspicion that this gateway timeout is due to the fact that with new gen phones, one could send free sms's from ones vodacom portal. Thats the only think that I can think of as the vodacom4me site is the only site that does this...Just a conspiracy theory...

As far as I can see you will definately get charged for the 722 mb but the report may very well be incorrect. I have had very poor experiences so far with the 3G data monitoring system on Vodacom4me. Usually it only reflects data usage between 6-9 hours despite the disclaimer stating that the info may be up to 3 hours old. I'd try and pretend that this service is not there at present as it is often very deceiving!!

.....

Doubt it, I'm sure that if that was a real concern for Vodacom they could just not display that section based on your IP address.
