Vodacom's R799 smartphone with great features

Vodacom's Kicka 6 smartphone is an affordable and capable device that won't leave mobile subscribers behind when the country's 2G and 3G networks are switched off.

Mobile networks have identified the unaffordability of 4G and 5G devices as a significant hindrance in migrating their customers to the newer technologies.
 
Yeah, just like they turned off terrestrial analogue TV years ago?... not gonna happen
 
The original Kicka was my first smartphone. Still have it in the drawer, just needs a new battery.

Don't get me wrong. I fully support that devices can be network locked if the device is highly subsidized by the network but they should give the customer the option to remove that lock, for a fee of course, on the customers request. Vodacrap does not do that, if you don't want to use their network, you don't get to use the device. Full stop.
 
Isn't network locked on a prepaid phone now only for a year?
