Vodacom's website/app takes the cake

Have 2 numbers on Vodacom contract. Trying to buy airtime for the uChoose Flexi number and add it to the monthly bill, gives this from the website:

Couple month's ago when trying to buy data with the airtime on the uChoose Flexi number, I had to eventually use the USSD code as advised by the call centre. Seems like their website/app is still a turd fest.

Edit: Trying to get my balance over R399 to buy a 5GB data bundle.

From time to time, the app experiences issues.

Yes, used the USSD code previously for data, but didn't try now for the airtime as I need to get the sim into a phone first.

And if "from time to time" you mean, every time you try it, then that's spot on.

After loading the airtime at a Vodashop yesterday (which they don't have the functionality to convert to data bundle), the app gave another gem.


Put the sim into a phone today and used the USSD code to get the job done.

Also vodacom encouraging some to use the app to buy data bundles in order to get bonus data of the same amount as a form of bait is as dishonest as it gets. The app has been crap lately and calling the customer care is hardly any relief when only what works is the USSD code.

All Vodacom, Chatz and Vodacom 4U shops should be on the UCS till system that supports purhcasing data bundles outright and have it loaded straight onto the cell number you give them.

I had R396 and some change on the number already, so wanted to top up past R399 and then covert the airtime to data.

Honestly I don't know what to say about the Vodacom Website and App.

If I see it I just want to spew. Nothing works. Last 10 transactions don't work. OTP login does not work for a number that is not registered even if the otp get sent to that number so it's verified but fails to login. Loading airtime even when displayed you are unable to buy bundles as for some reason the amount is ALWAYS stuck on a amount lower than what you have and you can't buy the bundles.

If I go on anymore I might end off writing a book. Wish Jannie can stop unzipping his zip in the other threads showing that ohhh Vodacom did this first. No point in showing you have a bigger .... if you can't use it...

App only works correctly about 1 time out of 5. Amazingly poor for such a large company and all its resources.

Boss had some subscription services activated on his account - log into Vodacom website - go to the subscriptions list and try to deactivate.

Lo and behold:
Unfortunately we could not deactivate this service. Please try again later.

Should I have expected anything else? :rolleyes:

Spent some time on the app & website and cannot figure out how to cancel or deactivate a month to month data bundle.

My contract is coming to and end mid September and will be porting out. I don't want to sit with any unused data or be billed for data that I won't be using.

I DON'T want to call them to cancel this friggin bundle.

Another thing, if I cancel now, any unused data will be available till the end of this month, correct?

Might be best to go into a Vodashop.

If you do, get the bold text in writing and signed by the manager.
